Professor Fraser to Receive Microanalysis Presidential Science Award

Professor Hamish Fraser has been invited to the 2014 Microscopy and Microanalysis meeting in Hartford, CT on August 4, 2014 to receive the Microanalysis Society’s Presidential Science Award. The Science Award is presented annually to an outstanding scientist for distinguished contributions to the field of microanalysis throughout one’s career. Learn more.

College Offers New Master's Degree for
Career-Minded Engineers

Only nine percent of respondents to a recent American Society of Quality survey said engineers would be best suited at the top of the corporate ladder. A recently approved online master's degree offered by The Ohio State University College of Engineering meets that challenge head-on. Learn more.

Welcoming a New Senior Class

With every Spring commencment comes a fresh new batch of seniors for our faculty to work with. Of course, we think that every class of graduates from our program is special, but the 2015 MSE and WE seniors can claim their own kind of uniqueness: they will be the first group of graduates to have taken the entire new MSE and WE curriculum developed for semesters. Learn more.


Moonbuggy 2014

Moonbuggy is an OSU student project that competes in an annual international competition that is sanctioned by NASA. Throughout the year they design and fabricate a small-scale pedal-powered lunar vehical to race in the competition. They meet twice a week (usually on west campus at EJTC). Learn more.



Alumnus Jennifer Center (Payler)

B.S. in 2008 (MSEt) / O.D. in 2013 -- While her original plan was to get her PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Jennifer's career path saw differently. Jennifer is now an optometry resident at Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center. After specializing in Biomaterials and graduating from Ohio State's Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) in 2008, Jennifer graduated with her Optometry Degree in 2013. She lives in Columbus with her husband, Jeremy, and their "bad cat" Stormy. Jennifer works Saturdays at local, private optometry practices in the area. Learn more.
